Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone by J.K.Rowling

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone was written by J.K.Rowling. This book was ublished in Britain, 2007, by Bloomsbury publishing. Cover illustrations were by Jason Cockcroft. This book is about a boy called Harry Potter who lives with his Aunt, Uncle and cousin. Little did Harry know that he was a wizard, his aunt, uncle and cousin knew but they wouldn't tell hlim because they thoguht it was too dangerous. They thought he might blow up the house. Could he do that? No because he doesn't have his wand. Next Hagrid who is half giant shows up at the Dursley's and takes him to Hogwarts. Harry befreinded a girl called Hermione and a boy called Ron. He meets his Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Quirrel wo actually has the face of the evil Lord Voldemort on the back of his head. What happens next? Read on and you will find out. At the end of the school year he has to kill Professor Quirrel to kill part of Lord Voldemort and that is exactly what he does, but before that he has to find a key that is in a room of flying keys and plays a giant game of wizard chess. After that he has to go back and live with the Dursley's until next term. My favourite part of this story was when Harry kills part of Voldemort. I would recommend it to people 7 and above because it is very exciting and will probably change your life forever. If you like it. I read it at my home. I read Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone because I thought it would be exciting and fun and I was right. It is one of the best books I have ever read. Reviewed by Stephanie(9)
