Book Review: The Flower Fairies by Emily Rodda

The Fairy Realm Series
Series 1, Book 2
The Flower Fairies by Emily Rodda
Illustrated by Raoul Vitale

I have read book 1, The Charm Bracelet, but I'd rather tell you more about book 2 as it's the last one that I read, and it's even more exciting than book 1, which I thought was exciting, too.

A girl called Jessie visits the fairy realm where there are lots of fantastical creatures like fairies and elves.

Sometimes Jessie finds herself in difficulty in her adventures.

In one adventure they had to trick a griffin to get him away from Giff's house because the griffin was in his way.  A griffin is a creature that guards their treasure house.  But this time they were guarding other places. It's hard to trick a griffin because they are very good at guarding things.  Their plan was to persuade the griffins that they were all needed back at the treasure house to guard Queen Helena's precious wings.  Then they would leave the other places alone.  That is their plan.  But does it work and do they have any extra troubles along the way?

Jessie wants to wear some precious wings in this story because she wants to look nice for a school play where she gets to dance as the butterfly.  One of her friends is very jealous because she wants to be the butterfly.  You'll have to read the book to see what happens next.

I love this series of books because there are lots of adventures.  Once you've read the first book, you'll want to keep going and going.  It feels like you're one of the characters and that you're right there, seeing what's happening.
