Pride and Prejudice

After watching the movie Pride and Prejudice I really wanted to read the novel.  The first version that I read, (Real Reads adapted by Gill Tavner) was SO abridged, to the point where two of the sisters (Mary and Kitty) had been taken out.  That was annoying!

The second version I read (a graphic novel by MARVEL, adapted by Nancy Butler and Hugo Petrus) is aimed more at teenagers.  It has a lot more detail and is only the slightest bit abridged.   For example Mr. and Mrs. Gardner don't have any children.  Because of all the pictures, you can see the expressions on their faces, which really gives you an idea of how the characters are feeling.

The audio book, which I have listened to, is not abridged, and has made me want to read the full novel in 2013, which is the 200th anniversary of the first printing of Pride and Prejudice.  I loved reading Pride and Prejudice and seeing what life would of been like back in the time of Jane Austen!
