The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S.Lewis

The book, 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', by C.S Lewis, is a book about the discovery of a magical land called Narnia. Edmund, Lucy, Susan and Peter enter narnia by going throughthe wardrobe they discover in a spare room. As they enter narnia they meet Mr.Beaver who is a unique animal because he can speak English. They discover that he has a wife called Mrs. Beaver who lives in a house made of sticks. As they talk to the Beavers, Edmund quietly sneaks away to the Witch's castle. The other children soon find out he has left for her castle in between two mountains. The White Witch sends her minions, the wolves, out to kill the children when she find out from Edmund where they are. It soon becomes spring because the children are closer and closer to making the prophecy come true. They meet Aslan and he makes a deal with the Witch for Edmund's life. After that the prophecy comes true, the Witch is defeated, and they become Kings and Queens. I loved the book because it is so different from life and that the children are so adventurous and not boring at all. I would recommend it for children nine and above because the vocabulary is quite advanced. Reviewed by Steph(9)
