Running Wild by Michael Morpurgo

The book "Running Wild" is a popular children's fiction novel written by the well known author Michael Morpurgo.

The main character, Will, is a 9 year old boy who travels to Indonesia with his mother for a holiday. Riding on an elephant in the wrong place, at the wrong time, Will is faced with the 2004 Boxing Day, Indonesian Tsunami where he finds himself saved by Oona, the elephant. Oona takes him into the jungle where they are faced with many challenges such as finding food and water. They will meet tigers orangutans and monkeys.

"Running Wild" was inspired by the poem 'The Tyger' by Willaim Blake.

Does Will survive the terrifying Indonesian jungle and if he does will he ever find his mother that he lost on that horrible day?

I recommend this book to confident readers who enjoy an adveturous story filled with problems just like me.
